Half Batch Pizza Dough
Ingredients
1 cup (227 g) lukewarm water
1 tablespoon (12 g) olive oil, plus more for greasing
1/2 tablespoon (9 g) sugar
1/2 tablespoon (9 g) salt
1/2 packet (4.5 g) active dry or instant yeast
3 cups (360 g) bread flour or pizza flour blend
1 tablespoon (6 g) pizza dough flavoring, optional
Directions
In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine the lukewarm water, olive oil, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Add the flour (and dough flavoring if using). Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead by hand or mixer for 7–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
Turn dough onto a lightly greased surface and gently deflate.
Divide into two or three pieces depending on desired crust thickness.
Roll or hand-stretch each piece into rounds about 12 inches in diameter, letting the dough rest as needed to relax.
